How Farbentour took a pharma website from zero to
visibility in AI search.
A German pharma website with no SEO or GEO history whatsoever: invisible in ChatGPT, in Google’s AI Overviews and in classic search. Within a few years, we turned it into a fixture in Google and in AI answers.

Invisible in search & AI
When the project came to us, there were neither SEO nor GEO measures in place. For the relevant terms in the industry – such as cold symptoms, e-prescription or remedies for colds – the shop was simply nowhere to be found.
The brand appeared neither in ChatGPT nor in Google’s AI Overviews – and in classic Google search, too, there were hardly any rankings and correspondingly little organic traffic.
The reason behind it: very low brand awareness. The competition was considerably more present, was mentioned in major trade magazines and had more – and better – customer reviews on Trustpilot.
This is exactly what the AI systems reflect: they cite what is well-known, linked and well-rated. Anyone who doesn’t appear there simply doesn’t exist for the AI.
Our approach
The GEO & SEO strategy
It started with combined keyword and prompt research. From the real W-questions that people search for on Google, we derived the prompts that users put to ChatGPT & co. in the same way.
We tracked these prompts and analyzed why the competition ranks ahead – the AI itself provides the answer as to which sources it cites and why.
In parallel, we worked on reputation: more and better Trustpilot reviews, targeted building of mentions and of best-of lists in which the client consistently appears in the top 3. Added to this was continuous backlink building, which also boosts classic SEO.
The content core: a great deal of citable content – glossary, guides and landing pages. Prompts as W-questions in H2 tags, with a clear, citable answer directly beneath. Plus the technical basis (Core Web Vitals, LLMs.txt, clean crawlability and indexability) and all the SEO basics.
Good SEO = good GEO
Those who rank at the top on Google are also cited more often by the AI. Google remains the leading index: position 1 is cited as a source by ChatGPT in 43.2% of cases – 3.5× more often than pages outside the top 20.

The result
The results
Zero visibility became a firm presence – in classic Google search as well as in AI answers. In mid-2023, organic traffic was still at 0.
AI visibility according to Sistrix
The client is now found for 4,548 prompts (May/June 2026) – in November 2025 it was just 1,100. An increase of around 313% in a little over six months.
